Pastor's Report

Dear Friends:
I pray this letter finds you resting and trusting in the promises of God. Without question, it has been an amazing season here at CCk. If there is one thing that is more evident than ever, it is the fact that God is on the move. We have seen the church continue to grow. People are coming to Christ and are being equipped by Christ in a very significant way. In my last letter to you, we had just launched the CCk West Campus, and I am happy to report that six months later there is a vibrant, fruitful fellowship meeting in West Kendall. It has been amazing to watch what God is doing there. In addition, our services at the Central Campus are very well attended; some with full overflow rooms. Once again, we are at that all too familiar place of having to address space concerns.
In response to our need for more space, we are planning to wire the sanctuary with new technology that will allow us to add a service during the time when I am preaching at the West Campus. It will have live worship, kids’ ministry, a campus pastor, and the teaching will come in via video. In addition, we will be doing updates to the Kids’ Ministry classrooms. We will create an amazing environment conducive for children to learn and be impacted by God’s Word. So, we are excited to say the least. This project will take place throughout the month of October, during which the Central Campus will be closed for the renovation. Because of this, on October 11th, 18th, and 25th, we will be having two services at the CCk:West Campus at John Ferguson High School. We will be joined by musical guests, the Katinas and also worship leader, Brenton Brown.
Now, some of you might be asking, what about the BuildingLife Project? Are we still doing it? The answer to that is: absolutely! For those of you who have been faithful in contributing toward BuildingLIFE, we have been able to advance this project to the point of completed building plans. As we seek to bring down the costs from the original $7 million estimate, your continued support will allow us to move further in the cost-cutting process and save toward the necessary down payment.
As stated from the outset, “This project it isn’t about building buildings; it is about building people.” We still plan to develop the CCk:Central campus property; only the timeline has changed. In the meantime, we thank the Lord for providing additional and economical ways to add seats without going into major debt. The CCk:West has been an example of that, and now the new renovation is an additional example. The renovation will cost approximately 60K. I believe that through special and sacrificial giving, we will be able to cover that without going into our savings. So, please pray as to what your involvement can be. This is going to be a great opportunity that will allow more people to hear the word of God at a convenient service time.
Lastly, I want to thank you for being an instrumental part of sharing the vision of CCk with those around you. We can all rejoice how the Lord has created such a wonderful place that is “Bringing people to LIFE through the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Let the lost be found,
Pedro
